1. Controller
The controller is Audecius UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Domherrnstraße 22 C, 55268 Nieder-Olm, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, represented by its Managing Director, Moritz Zinecker. Register court: Mainz Local Court. Commercial register: HRB 54879. Send privacy enquiries to support@audeciusofficial.com. Clarity processes some data exclusively on your device and other data in your Audecius account or with providers you activate.
2. Categories and sources of data
Depending on how you use Clarity, we process account and contact data; profile, age range, school, family and organisation data; events, tasks, learning, grade and journal data; chats, posts, files, photos, audio, voice input and support data; health, fitness, mood, medication and route data; contacts, calendars, reminders, location and device permissions; purchases and entitlements; device, session, security, diagnostics and optional product-measurement data; search queries, AI prompts, responses and approvals. Sources are you, connected people or organisations, Apple frameworks, activated integrations and use of the service.
3. Local, synchronised or shared
Many personal features initially store data locally. Sign-in, synchronisation, changing devices, shared family, school, community or Exchange features, support and cloud AI nevertheless require transmission to Audecius or named providers. Local does not automatically mean encrypted or backed up; device protection, backups and Apple settings also apply. Before optional sharing, Clarity should display the recipient, purpose and scope of data. It would be inaccurate to claim that all data remains local.
4. Purposes and legal bases
Account, content, synchronisation, support and billing data that is necessary for the service is processed to perform the agreement under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Security, abuse, error and legal-evidence data is based on legal obligations or overriding legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(c) and (f). Optional AI transfers, product measurement, contacts, location and sensitive data are based on valid consent or express approval under Article 6(1)(a), and for special categories Article 9(2)(a), unless another documented basis applies. Consent is voluntary, purpose-specific and revocable.
5. AI processing
On-device models process input on supported Apple devices. If you choose cloud AI, the prompt, selected content, technical context and response may be sent to Audecius and then to Anthropic or OpenAI. Speech transcription may send audio to OpenAI. Before a third-party transfer, Clarity must display the scope and provider and obtain revocable approval. Accepting this policy does not grant blanket approval for sensitive data to be used with cloud AI. Provider commitments on training and retention must be contractually verified.
7. International transfers
Audecius is based in Germany, but providers may process data in the EEA, the United States or elsewhere. Transfers from the EEA, Switzerland or the United Kingdom take place only on a recognised basis, such as an adequacy decision or the Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK Addendum, together with supplementary measures. Audecius must review data locations, subprocessors and transfer impact assessments before publication. You may request a copy of applicable safeguards.
8. Retention
Content is retained until you delete it, your account is deleted or the purpose ends, unless a shorter product period applies. Support tickets are generally retained for 24 months after closure, delivery logs for up to 30 days, and consent or contract records until the applicable limitation periods expire. Security logs are retained only for as long as necessary; backups are overwritten on a rolling basis. Data subject to statutory retention is restricted. All periods must match the actual backend configuration.
9. Security and incidents
Audecius uses risk-appropriate access controls, encryption in transit and, where appropriate, at rest, tenant separation, logging, backups, vulnerability management and provider controls. No system is completely secure. When a relevant incident occurs, Audecius investigates and contains the harm and informs authorities or affected people within statutory deadlines. Use a device lock, current software and strong authentication.
10. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights of access, copy, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal and complaint. In California and other US states, rights may include knowing, correcting and deleting data, opting out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, and limiting sensitive data; Audecius currently does not sell or share data for these purposes. Exercising rights will not result in discrimination. Identity is verified only proportionately. Contact: support@audeciusofficial.com.
11. Choices and required data
Account and core data may be required for sign-in, synchronisation or shared features. Health, contacts, calendars, location, photos, microphone, voice, product measurement, cloud AI and integrations are generally optional and can be withdrawn in system or in-app settings. Previous support tickets are not automatically used as AI context. Withdrawal takes effect for the future. Turning a feature off stops new collection, but deletes existing data only where the interface expressly promises this.
12. Children and young people
Clarity is not released for children under 13. If we become aware of data from such a child without a suitable process, we stop processing, retain only necessary safeguarding information and delete the data after a verified request unless safety or law prevents this. High-privacy defaults, data minimisation, understandable notices and no advertising profiling apply to minors. Parents and guardians may exercise appropriate rights; the child's best interests take priority.
13. Automation and changes
Clarity does not make solely automated consumer decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Recommendations, prioritisation, filters and moderation signals may be automated, but are aids and can be challenged. Material changes are announced in the app; new text does not grant retroactive consent for new optional purposes. Earlier versions are archived.
